With the determination and support of friend and advisers, she purchased her own piece of land and built a tiny home nestled in nature, close to family and surrounded by trees. Here’s Ham’s story, told in her own words.
Tell Us a Bit About Yourself
I am a solo mother to a wonderful toddler. With the help of many friends and advisors, I built a tiny home on wheels to enable us to live with low living costs and reduce our environmental footprint. I find joy in the simple things and feel privileged to be able to live near family and lots of trees!
Where Are You In Your Property Journey?
With the help of Jess and the dedicated team at Mortgage Supply Co, I have recently bought my own wee patch of land to give my son and I some security – a place we know we can watch our fruit trees grow to maturity and set ourselves up for a happy life.
What is One Thing You Wish You’d Known Sooner From Your Property Journey?
I wish I knew what questions to ask the seller (a private sale) as there have been a few minor things that were miscommunicated from the surveyor involved in subdividing the property. In the depths of trying to make the sale work, I hadn’t even thought of such details and the implications of not asking the right questions.
